Welcome to the Coalitions Team Site

Welcome to the Team!

Congratulations! You have been selected to serve on the Convention of States Action (COSA) Pennsylvania Coalitions Team and it is a real honor. Your willingness to step into this important role and become part of our PA State Coalition team is to be commended. It’s not every day that you get to join the team that can enable COSA to make history! Let’s get started. The mission for Convention of States Action is to build a grassroots army of self-governing individuals, so this is an important role for COSA. We’re working to build a mountainous coalition – that is a mountain of trained, equipped, and engaged citizens from many disciplines and walks of life. . The mission for Convention of States is to, “Build an engaged army of self-governing grassroots activists”. We aim to grow a grassroots army large enough to not only call the first ever Article V Convention of States, but to also drive the political and cultural narrative in Pennsylvania and across all 50 states. We want to see self-governance and liberty flourish in our nation and we believe the only way this will happen is if good people like you get involved in the political and cultural battle. We want to train you how to do this as effectively as possible. If we fail to pass the resolution one year, we just keep growing the grassroots team and training more activists until we have enough influence to effect the change and pass the resolution. Every additional person we educate, train, and get involved is one person closer to victory! We often say, “There is no political problem that more grassroots can’t fix.” All of this is not done by one individual. It is a team effort! You will be working closely with your PA State Coalitions Director, and the PA State team. Good communication with our team will be the key to your and our success. Here, you will find a wealth of information to equip you to handle most situations. This manual is not intended to be all that you need. Rather, it should give you basic guidelines and principles for you to use as your template to achieve success.

Your Training and Onboarding, Communications

There are three (3) aspects to your training:

1. Written training that consists of this manual and other files, videos and documents.

2. Upcoming training will be provided in our COS University on topics such as technology, legal and operational.

3. Personal mentoring.

It is important that you be in frequent contact with your State Coalitions Director and your broader COSA PA team and respond to communications, as appropriate. Please let your State Coalitions team know your preferred contact method (phone, text, Slack, etc.), so that they can reach you when needed.

What is a Coalition and a COSA Coalition Partner

A definition of a “Coalition” is a group formed of people, organizations, associations, factions, or other parties that agree to work together in a partnership to achieve a common goal. A coalition is usually a temporary union between two or more groups, especially in companies, organizations, such as political organizations, for the purpose of gaining more influence or power than the individual groups or organizations can hope to achieve on their own. A Coalition Partner (from a COSA PA perspective) is an organization that is like-minded and shares the same/similar values, beliefs, goals and objectives as COSA and wants to work together to drive mutual success.
